Joe is a 28 year old motorsport photographer. Whose passion for motorsport started at a young age, which naturally evolved into combining with another one of his passions, photography. Joe has built a strong portfolio, covering the likes of BTCC, British GT, GT Cup and various national rally events.

A little bit about you

I'm currently based out of Leicester in the east midlands, with Donington park being my local circuit. My day job is in shipping and distribution for a luxury packaging supplier. I’ve spent the last few years focusing on building my portfolio as a motorsport photographer.

Where did your photography journey start?

I got my first camera when I was 14, a Fujifilm bridge camera. The camera didn't leave my side, mainly photographing friends in the local skateboarding and BMX scene. I later moved to my first full-frame DSLR, which was a Canon 5D Mkii, where I caught the bug for street and portrait photography.

In 2023, I took my camera to the Britcar 5 hour endurance race at Donington park and never looked back, combining photography with my childhood passion for motorsport.

What sort of photography do you do now?

Now I specialise in motorsport. I feel like the most memorable parts of motorsport are the noise, smell, speed of the cars, and the atmosphere. I try to convey this through my photography. I want my photos to make you feel like you were there, not just show you what it looked like.

What are your other interests?

Outside of photography, I’m an avid musician, playing bass in bands for the last 10 years. I also hike and backpack with my partner on any weekend I’m not at the track!

What is your number one goal from doing photography?

Just to make sure I’m enjoying myself! Build strong connections with others in the industry and hopefully, one day I can turn it into a career.

What is your dream event to capture?

Where to start! I would have to say all of the big 24 hour races, Le Mans, Nürburgring, etc. The Monaco GP would be incredible, and I’d love to photograph the sunrise at Mount Panorama during the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Where can people find your work?
