The 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship came to a close at Brands Hatch, with record-breaking five-time champion Ash Sutton headlining a dramatic season finale.
With Sutton having secured his historic fifth drivers’ title at Silverstone, attention turned to the remaining honours, as Mikey Doble and LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing clinched both the Independents Drivers’ and Teams’ titles. Dexter Patterson also completed his campaign by securing the Jack Sears Trophy.
On track, Tom Ingram claimed two victories for Team VERTU before Dan Cammish inherited the final race win for NAPA Racing UK following a post-race penalty for Ricky Collard. Sutton added two more podiums to finish the season with an extraordinary 21 from 30 races, further cementing his place in BTCC history.
Round 28
The Team VERTU driver and Moffat traded positions on several occasions in an entertaining contest, with neither able to establish a decisive advantage. Their battle reached its climax when Ingram made his move around the outside on the run down to Paddock Hill Bend, completing the decisive pass to take the lead.
Moffat had arrived at Brands Hatch in strong form following a victory and podium finish at Silverstone, and he continued that momentum by winning the Race to Pole contest to secure the front of the grid for Round 28.

The Scotsman put up a determined fight to hold off Ingram, but eventually had to concede to the two-time champion’s challenge. His afternoon was made more difficult by a five-second penalty for track-limit infringements, which ultimately cost him an overall podium finish. He nevertheless secured the Independents’ class honours.
Josh Cook took second place for Speedworks Corolla Racing, while Team VERTU’s Ricky Collard completed the overall podium in third.

Ash Sutton finished fifth for NAPA Racing UK, adding another solid result to a landmark weekend. Having already secured an unprecedented fifth BTCC drivers’ title at Silverstone, Sutton arrived at Brands Hatch following the announcement of a five-year contract extension with NAPA Racing UK. He also marked the occasion by running the number five on his car.
Mikey Doble finished sixth overall for LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing, strengthening his position in the fight for the Independents’ Drivers’ title. He had to contend with pressure from WSR’s Daryl De Leon, who followed closely in his BMW 330i M Sport.

Dan Cammish was next home for NAPA Racing UK, ahead of CPRL’s Adam Morgan, while Dexter Patterson rounded out the top 10 for Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing. The result came after Patterson had already secured the Jack Sears Trophy, adding another milestone to the team’s campaign.
Ingram’s victory provided a strong start to the Brands Hatch meeting, while Sutton’s fifth-place finish kept the newly crowned champion firmly in the spotlight as the 2026 season reached its final stages.

Round 30
Dan Cammish inherited victory in the final round of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch after on-the-road winner Ricky Collard was handed a five-second penalty for a procedural infringement during a safety car restart.

Starting third, Team VERTU’s Collard made an excellent start to take the lead on the opening lap, but an early safety car period interrupted the race following a first-corner collision that brought Tom Chilton’s BTCC career to an abrupt end. Team-mate Tom Ingram, who had won the opening two races of the day, was also forced to retire.
Collard held on to take the chequered flag first, but the post-race penalty promoted Cammish from second to victory. The NAPA Racing UK driver had spent much of the contest fighting with Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing’s Dexter Patterson and team-mate Ash Sutton before being awarded his third win of the campaign.

Sutton looked set to challenge for the lead after moving into second, but ran wide at Westfields while chasing Collard and dropped back to ninth. The newly crowned five-time champion fought his way back through the field to secure third place, completing an impressive record of 21 podium finishes across the 30-race season.
Patterson was promoted to the podium in third, providing another highlight in a breakthrough campaign for the Scotsman. He had already secured the Jack Sears Trophy title, marking a successful season for Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing.

Patterson’s team-mate Aiden Moffat finished fourth, while Adam Morgan produced one of the drives of the race for CPRL, gaining eight positions to finish sixth.
Josh Cook ended a memorable Brands Hatch weekend with seventh for Speedworks Corolla Racing. Having stood on the podium twice earlier in the day, Cook’s strong final result also secured him fourth place in the overall drivers’ championship after a weekend in which seven drivers had entered the event in contention for that position.
Daniel Lloyd enjoyed one of Restart Racing’s strongest results of the day by taking eighth, ahead of Gordon Shedden in ninth for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. Mikey Doble completed the top 10 after having already clinched the Independents Drivers’ Trophy in the second race.

The final result brought the 2026 BTCC campaign to a close, with Cammish adding one last victory to his season tally after Collard’s penalty reshuffled the order following the chequered flag.
