The BTCC returned in style at Knockhill, with the Scottish circuit basking in glorious sunshine and its trademark rolling hills providing the perfect backdrop for touring car action. Fans packed the banks to witness a weekend of high-octane drama, and it was WSR’s BMWs that proved untouchable.

From the opening laps, the rear-wheel-drive machines looked perfectly at home around the short, twisty track, delivering commanding performances that left rivals chasing shadows. The combination of pace, precision, and consistency meant that wherever the battles raged behind, the BMWs were always in control.

The atmosphere was electric, the racing relentless, and with Knockhill’s unique blend of fast corners, heavy braking zones, and tight overtaking spots, the weekend offered everything fans could have hoped for. For WSR, it was a statement of intent—one that reignited their title charge and reminded everyone why Knockhill is often regarded as one of the BTCC’s great levellers.

Hill Back on Top with Knockhill Race 1 Triumph

Jake Hill made a winning return to the BTCC at Knockhill, storming to his second victory of the 2025 season after being forced to sit out Croft through illness. The Laser Tools Racing star looked immediately back in rhythm, taking full advantage of WSR’s early front-running pace to claim a composed and clinical win.

Charles Rainford led the opening stages from pole, heading a WSR 1-2-3 as the race got underway. That formation was briefly disrupted when Daryl DeLeon, eager to convert his strong qualifying form, dived down the inside at Turn 1 with an audacious attempt for the lead. The move didn’t stick, sending him onto the grass — though in a dramatic twist he rejoined ahead of the pack. With his radiator full of debris and the legality of the move in question, DeLeon wisely backed off and allowed both Rainford and Hill back through.

Hill didn’t hang around for long. A clean and confident overtake on Rainford handed him the race lead, and from that point the reigning champion controlled proceedings with ease, building a gap and calmly managing it to the chequered flag. Rainford held firm in second to secure a strong result for WSR, while Tom Ingram completed the podium. Ingram inherited third after teammate Senna Proctor, who had occupied the spot for much of the race, moved aside to aid his championship bid.

Behind the top three, Dan Cammish and Aiden Moffatt completed the top six, with Ash Sutton slotting into seventh. DeLeon recovered to eighth after his early drama, while Árón Taylor-Smith once again impressed in ninth, fending off persistent pressure from both a NAPA Ford and a VERTU Hyundai. Sam Osborne completed the top ten.

Ingram Tightens Title Grip with Dominant Knockhill Race 2 Victory

Tom Ingram further strengthened his hold on the 2025 BTCC championship battle with a commanding drive in Race 2 at Knockhill, taking his fourth win of the season in decisive fashion.

Lining up on the second row, the Team VERTU driver wasted little time charging to the front. He quickly picked off the BMW pair of Charles Rainford and Jake Hill, both of whom were hampered by the medium compound tyre in the early stages. Hill put up a strong defence initially, but once Ingram hit his stride, the Hyundai’s pace proved untouchable. He pulled clear and controlled the remainder of the race to secure a comfortable and crucial victory.

Behind the runaway leader, the scrap for the podium provided plenty of intrigue. NAPA Racing UK duo Dan Cammish and Ash Sutton methodically worked their way up through the pack, with Cammish running second for the majority of the race. In the closing laps, however, he yielded to Sutton to allow his teammate to collect maximum points and keep the championship gap manageable.

Further down the order, WSR’s Daryl DeLeon impressed once again, holding on to sixth place and benefiting post-race by drawing pole for the Race 3 reverse grid. Stablemate Aiden Moffat followed him home in seventh after moving aside late on, while Tom Chilton delivered one of the standout performances of the day. Starting from the very back of the grid, the veteran carved his way through the field to finish eighth — a result that turned plenty of heads in the paddock.

Hill Rules Knockhill with Dominant Race 3 Double

Jake Hill capped off a sensational weekend at Knockhill by taking a commanding Race 3 victory, securing a brilliant double win and earning the fitting nickname of ‘King of the Hill’.

The Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport driver produced a flawless performance, controlling the race from the front and stretching his advantage to more than seven seconds by the chequered flag. Hill later described the result as one of the finest wins of his career, crediting the setup and balance of his BMW for the dominant display.

Behind him, NAPA Racing UK teammates Dan Cammish and Ash Sutton completed the podium, though not without drama. Sutton and Ingram had run nose to tail for much of the race, with Cammish initially in second. In a repeat of Race 2, Cammish moved aside to allow Sutton through in support of his title bid. However, the move was soon shrouded in controversy after it emerged Sutton had overtaken under yellow flag conditions. Officials later reversed the positions, reinstating Cammish as runner-up and dropping Sutton to third.

WSR duo Charles Rainford and Aiden Moffat came home eighth and ninth respectively, with Toyota’s Gordon Shedden wrapping up the top ten to the delight of the local crowd.
