The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship roared into its grand finale at Brands Hatch GP, with relatively sunny skies providing a welcome contrast to Storm Amy battering the rest of the country. But it wasn’t the weather making headlines — it was Storm Daryl, as DeLeon stormed to pole position for Race 1 of the season finale.

Race 1: Cammish Claims Victory as Ingram Edges Closer to Title

NAPA Racing UK’s Dan Cammish claimed victory in the opening race of the 2025 BTCC finale at Brands Hatch GP, while Tom Ingram strengthened his grip on the championship battle by finishing ahead of his title rival Ash Sutton.

The drama began even before the lights went out, as pole sitter Daryl DeLeon was forced to peel into the pits after the green flag lap with a suspected engine issue — a cruel blow for the young WSR driver who had stunned the field in qualifying. With DeLeon out of the way, Cammish seized control from the front, but he was immediately under pressure from Tom Chilton, who made a strong start and looked eager to challenge for the lead.

Behind them, Charles Rainford, Jake Hill, and Adam Morgan were locked in a fierce early battle. Hill’s race came undone shortly after, as contact with Morgan resulted in a puncture that sent him into the pits, unravelling what had looked like a strong opening for WSR.

While WSR’s fortunes faded, Team VERTU were making the most of the situation. Chilton and Morgan pushed their way into second and third respectively, while championship leader Tom Ingram methodically worked his way through the field to secure fifth, crucially finishing ahead of Sutton to extend his points advantage.

Rainford provided some relief for WSR, driving strongly to finish fourth and moving to the top of the Jack Sears Trophy standings, capitalizing on teammate DeLeon’s misfortune.

Gordon Shedden impressed with a consistent performance to take seventh, while Dan Lloyd produced one of the drives of the race — charging through the field from 15th on the grid to finish eighth, extending his lead in the Independent Drivers’ standings to 10 points.

Title contender Ash Sutton could manage only ninth after a challenging race, followed by Chris Smiley in tenth. Sutton now faces an uphill battle to keep his title hopes alive, as Ingram holds a 37-point lead with a maximum of 44 still available over the remaining two races.

Race 2: Ingram Seals 2025 Title with Commanding Win

Tom Ingram sealed the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship crown with a decisive victory in Race 2 at Brands Hatch GP. In front of a packed crowd lining the GP circuit, Ingram delivered a champion’s drive to claim his seventh win of the season and put the title out of reach of rival Ash Sutton with one race to spare.

The drama began at lights out as Dan Cammish launched well off the line to lead into the opening corners. However, those on the soft tyre compound quickly began to apply pressure. Tom Chilton was the first to make a move, taking the lead from Cammish, while title contenders Ingram and Sutton made swift progress through the pack.

Cammish soon slipped down the order, and Chilton played the perfect team role by allowing Ingram through to take the lead — a move that helped set the stage for Ingram’s title-clinching moment.

The race took a twist when contact between Árón Taylor-Smith and Charles Rainford brought out the safety car. Under caution, drama struck again as Chilton’s Hyundai came to a sudden halt on the circuit, eliminating him from the race and reshuffling the order behind Ingram and Sutton, who now ran first and second — setting up a potential on-track title showdown.

However, another incident moments after the restart neutralized the race again. Taylor-Smith’s day ended in the barriers after contact with teammate Josh Cook, bringing out a second safety car period. Once the race resumed, Ingram immediately pulled clear of Sutton and never looked back, cruising to victory and with it, wrapping up his second BTCC drivers’ title.

Senna Proctor capped off an impressive drive to claim third place, with his podium proving crucial in tightening both the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ and Teams’ championships. As the field heads into the final race, the battle between Alliance Racing/Ford and EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai couldn’t be closer, with just a single point separating the two in the Manufacturers’ standings and four points in the Teams’ title fight.

Race 3: Cook Caps Season with Victory as Ingram Celebrates Championship Glory

Cook delivered an inspired performance, attacking from the opening lap with nothing to lose. Starting from third on the grid, he made a bold move down the inside to pass both pole-sitter Aiden Moffat and Jake Hill, seizing the race lead early on.

Hill endured a tough opening phase as he and teammate Moffat were quickly overtaken by Ash Sutton, who wasted no time climbing into podium contention. The 2024 champion soon found his rhythm again, fending off challenges from behind to rejoin the battle at the sharp end.

As the chequered flag fell, Cook emerged as the 13th different winner of an incredibly competitive season. Sutton followed him home in second place, keeping up his relentless pace to the end, while Hill rounded off the podium in third — a fitting farewell as he announced his departure from the BTCC to pursue other ventures.

Ingram brought his Hyundai home in sixth position, a result more than enough to officially crown him the 2025 Drivers’ Champion, wrapping up a season of consistency, racecraft, and decisive victories.

There was also plenty of drama and silverware settled elsewhere. EXCELR8 Motorsport clinched the Manufacturers’ title after late-race contact between NAPA Racing stablemates Dan Rowbottom and Dan Cammish, which saw Rowbottom disqualified from the race. Despite the setback, NAPA Racing UK still claimed the Teams’ Championship.

Restart Racing secured the Independent Teams’ crown, while Dan Lloyd was confirmed as the Independent Drivers’ Trophy winner.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Daryl DeLeon celebrated a standout campaign by sealing the Jack Sears Trophy title.
