A little bit about you
I’m a 33 year old motorsport photographer based in Hastings, England. My work has received both national and international recognition, including selection in the Auto Photo Top 100 in 2024 and 2025, as well as a Highly Commended Image award at the Amateur Motorsport Awards 2024. My portfolio showcases a broad range of photographic techniques, with a particular emphasis on creative composition and the effective use of varied shutter speeds to capture the intensity and dynamics of motorsport.
Where did your photography journey start?
My photography journey began in 2017, following the completion of my Master’s degree, when I invested in my first DSLR camera. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a genuine passion. Initially, my focus was on landscape photography, allowing me to explore composition, light, and atmosphere at my own pace. As my confidence and technical ability grew, I naturally progressed into portraiture and wedding photography, where I developed a strong appreciation for capturing emotion and human moments in a meaningful way.
In late 2022, I took my camera to a racetrack for the first time, which was a turning point that would redefine my creative direction. A a long time motorsport fan, combining my two passions had me hooked immediately and I love the thrill of capturing speed and dramatic moments on track. Motorsport photography combined everything I loved about storytelling, technical challenge, and visual impact, pushing me creatively in ways no other genre had before.
What sort of photography do you do now?
Currently, I attend UK-based motorsport events, continually refining my skills and developing my visual style. My focus is on capturing not just the action on track, but the atmosphere, emotion, and human stories that unfold throughout a race weekend. Away from the circuit, I still shoot the occasional wedding and portrait sessions, however motorsport remains my main passion and creative focus looking forwards.
What are your other interests?
When I’m not trackside, I work full-time as an NHS Physiotherapist and also run my own private clinic. Juggling a clinical career with photography has taught me time management, resilience, and how to function on very little sleep. Any free time I do have is usually spent with my family, or editing photos while telling myself I’ll go to bed “after one more image.”
What is my number one goal from doing photography?
My number one goal as a photographer is to tell compelling stories through imagery. When photographing motorsport events, I aim to capture the determination, passion and sacrifice that goes into every race. Both from the drivers and teams perspective, highlighting moments behind the scenes that often go unseen. Each time I step trackside, my personal objective is to continue evolving my storytelling ability and elevating the visual presentation of my work.
What is my dream event to capture?
My ultimate dream events to photograph are the Bathurst 1000 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but more generally I would the challenge of covering any 24hr race.
