Millie is a 26-year-old self-taught car and motorsport photographer. She began her photography journey in January, heading to car events and local meets and taking pictures of almost every car she came across. She started a dedicated photography account on Instagram, which quickly led to collaborations with various groups who wanted images of their members’ cars.
As she documented her journey on TikTok, Millie was discovered by MMT Performance, opening the door to the world of motorsport photography. Her first attempt at panning shots came at the Goodwood Festival of Speed—just one month before her first official event with MMT. With no formal training and little idea of what to expect, she took the leap and learned by doing.
Since then, Millie has watched her work grow and progress with every event. Although she still sees plenty of room for improvement, she loves looking back at how far she’s come in just a few months. Not having studied photography in school or college, she’s found that simply going for it was what truly kickstarted her passion—and she wouldn’t change a thing.
A little bit about you
I currently live in Staffordshire with my fiancé, I currently work as a retail store manager but plan to go full time with my photography and MMT very soon!
Where did your photography journey start?
My photography journey really started way back when I was a kid, I always liked the idea of photography and took “candid” photos of things here or there but never really took it seriously or saw it as something that could be a ‘real job’ until this year where I decided to focus it on something I’m passionate about and just put my all into it, and being surrounded by the right people has continued to push me to succeed.
What sort of photography do you do now?
I mainly focus my photography into personal car shoots & motorsport events, I dabble into different areas now and then such as portraits, products and events but my main passion and focus is anything cars. With now working for MMT a lot of my focus is on the team and capturing all of their special moments at their track days & events, as well as bits at the unit. Every day is different with MMT and there’s never been a dull one, I feel truly myself when I’m behind the camera and with the team, as if I’ve finally found myself and the part that was always missing and I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring for me.
What are your other interests?
My other interests are mainly my car itself and working on it/ driving about with my fiancé as well as with his car. I also really enjoy camping, this is something I’ve also only recently gotten into and that was introduced to me by my partner, there’s just something about it it’s like an escape from the real world and everything’s just quiet and calm for a little while, being disconnected from everything else and going on walks and taking in the surrounding areas is also a massive bonus.
What is your number one goal from doing photography?
My number one goal going forward with my photography is to take things full time & to master other areas such as videography, this is something I’ve dipped into recently and I’m hoping in the new year it’s something I can massively improve on alongside the photos. I have no desire to change from MMT and hope to stay with such a great team and make other photoshoots alongside them a full time job as that’s what makes me the happiest.
What is your dream event to capture?
I don’t particularly have a “dream event” to capture however a dream of mine would be to make it to a famous track like the circuit of spa in Belgium, it’s an absolutely beautiful track and there’s just something so iconic about it that I’d love to see in person. Alongside that I’d love to make it on an actual “media team” and some big events that I attend personally such as SuperCarFest and Goodwood FOS.
Where can people find your work?
