Chris is an automotive and motorsport photographer based in Surrey, UK, working under Outlaw Photography. He is a published, media accredited, and been recognised in the Auto Photo Top 100 in 2025 & AMPA in 2024. He spends most of his time around race circuits, workshops, and seeking out locations that aren’t usually open to cameras & cars.

Where did your photography journey start?
Photography came through cars and racing rather than a traditional photography background. Being around motorsport regularly, I wanted to create stronger, more considered images than quick snapshots.
I’m completely self taught as both a photographer and editor. Most of that learning came from time at circuits, making mistakes, and refining my approach under real pressure where timing matters.
What sort of photography do you do now?
My main focus is GT3 endurance racing across the UK and Europe. Long race weekends, changing light, and unpredictable conditions are where I’m most comfortable. I love shooting in the rain and getting those early morning Sunrise shots on track.
Alongside motorsport, I shoot automotive work with a particular interest in Porsches, McLarens, and historic vehicles. I actively look for rarely used locations and put the work in to gain permission, rather than relying on the same familiar backdrops.
What are your other interests?
Cars sit at the centre of most things I do. I own a Porsche 356 race replica and spend a lot of time at car meets and automotive events.
Outside of photography, I code apps, mainly tools built for photographers around location planning and workflow. I also enjoy mentoring younger photographers and helping them develop both technically and professionally.
What is your number one goal from photography?
To build a body of work that leads to long-term relationships with teams, brands, and publications. Trust and access come from consistency and reliability, not shortcuts.
What is your dream event to capture?
Formula 1. It’s the highest level of motorsport and the ultimate environment for a photographer working in this space.
